Chillers – Your Reality (Dan Salvato)

Welcome to Chillers, the ongoing series where we take a look at songs that give me goosebumps. Bi-weekly posting will be done on WordPress with a cross post to Bluesky.

Your Reality by Dan Salvato is a perfect intersection between Chillers and WOTS Reviews—written for Doki Doki Literature Club as both a song and a storytelling device.

An emotionally longing piece shrouded in upbeat piano plucks and soft guitar strumming, the singer pines for someone they may never be with. The deeper the song goes, the darker it gets—longing turns to sadness, then acceptance.

By the end, the singer recognizes two separate realities: one where love exists and one where it cannot. “And in your reality, if I don’t know how to love you… I’ll leave you be.”

A masterclass in emotional storytelling and musical restraint.
